Vigano opened their first shop in 1919 on via Paolo da Cannobio 39 near Piazza del Duomo. The owner, Carlo Vigano started his business with dealing glass materials which were used for haute couture designs, embellishments, trimmings, as well as costume jewelry. After some success he opened another store in 1933 in the Galleria right next to the Duomo, which is the store I have visited. According to Vigano's website, their store is known for best Italian handcrafted jewelry. As I read further about the company online, today they are one of the leading companies for distribution of glass materials which are used in haute couture. This store looks so elegant and it so beautiful, down to the decoration. The windows displays that were present when I took the photos, looked like they were straight out of the early decades!
