On the streets of Milano

While waiting for the bus, I have come across a couple of girls that are sporting some awesome vintage inspired shoes. The first girl with some oxfords that I wanted to rip off her feet and the second girl's wedges are absolutely eye catching. Her whole outfit from the scarf on her head to her chef-like pants to of course her amazing shoes. She definitely looked like she was from a different era, I loved it!

Some great oxfords

A little bit of modern retro, the shoes are amazing and the pants she was wearing looked like the traditional chef pants!

The three photos below I found on Refinery29.com, they embody Milan street fashion and they all happen to be wearing some vintage or vintage inspired garments and accessories.

Dam Style

I couldn't resist not writing another post on the style of Amsterdam, Dam style. I love looking at the Dam Style blog and I found a a few more awesome vintage inspired outfits that were captured on the streets of Amsterdam that were recently posted on the blog. Amsterdam is one place that I would love to live, I loved everything about it when I visited a few weeks ago and the style really blew me away. It is definitely my kind of style and I think I could get used to sporting some awesome vintage outfits while riding my bicycle around the city.

My favorite outfit, trendy, chic and very vintage!

Antique Furniture

This past weekend, I had the chance to go to Luzern, Switzerland to visit with my family friend, Phil. While there, he introduced me to his friends who own an antique furniture business, Werner Kammermann Antique Restoration. They have a couple of shops around the town as well as a restoration shop that is located right next door to Phil's home.

They sell the nicest antique furniture and take care of their merchandise very well, which is why they are so successful at what they do. Just by looking through the window at their products in the restoration store, I could tell they had some very nice pieces and most of them looked new, because of how well they are able to restore the old into the new.

I love antique furniture, it has so much character and a certain elegance about it. Once I own my own home, I will definitely be very interested in buying some antique furniture, perhaps from the wonderful owners of this antique shop.

Ralph Lauren Blue Label

I love Ralph Lauren's Blue Label. Here in Milan, the label is available at La Rinascente, a luxurious department store right next to the Duomo. While visiting there a few weeks ago, this display caught my eye right away. The fringe bag pulled me in for I have an obsession with everything leather fringe. I loved everything on this mannequin, it was so effortless chic and of course looked vintage to me!

The two images below I took off of the Ralph Lauren Blue Label website. They are my favorite pieces from the winter collection and are entirely retro and a flashback from previous eras.

Long, full skirts

While being in Europe, I have noticed that the stores have been carrying clothes that reflect the fashion from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. One item that I have seen a lot of are long, full skirts in many colors and types of fabric. I absolutely love them, they can be so chic with the right outfit. Yesterday, I received a trend report from Who What Wear, which coincidentally enough was on full skirts. It was perfect timing, since I have been searching for the perfect long skirt over the past few weeks, but so far have been unsuccessful.

Merci

While in Paris, we were able to visit this very interesting concept store, Merci. The store stemmed from the idea of how to generate funds for a sustainable matter without receiving any donations.
The store changes out their entire inventory monthly, which makes the store completely new each month when customers return. This concept I thought was a really great business idea, because dedicated customers will keep coming back again and again to see what else is new within the store.
Merci carries home goods, furniture, clothing, and really anything you can think of. Much of what they had when we visited was vintage inspired, the clothing, the furniture and some of the decorations. The clothing especially was inspired by previous decades, the accessories looked straight out of the 50s and 60s, long gloves, eccentric hats and great scarfs.

Les Halles

Over the past few months I have been seeing Les Halles jeans on girls all over. The brand started in 1979, but was closed shortly after in 1983. Recently in 2008, the brand relaunched and has been growing popularity amongst a younger generation ever since. I absolutely love these jeans, they are in the vintage-style with some originals dating back to the early 80s. I have seen quite a few girls wearing these over in Europe and recently I got an email about them from a fashion website I subscribe to, Refinery29. Just proves that fashion trends may fade, but they always come back around!

Sessun

This past weekend I had the amazing opportunity to go to Paris and I fell in love! We had a a few professional visits planned and on the way to one of them, I happened to walk past this store, Sessun. Just by admiring the window display, I can tell that I would be a frequent shopper to this store. The windows were adorned with vintage inspired designs, from capes to oxford kitten heels, to perfectly tailored trousers. The picture I have below, I wish I could own I love that the camel color is everywhere and especially love that the cape has come back into fashion, taking cues from the past!

Here are some of my favorite shoes and accessories from their website....

Eva Pop Super Vintage

Eva Pop in Navigli area

Eva Pop Vintage is a store that is full of clothing and accessories which the owner has put together. All the clothes are in excellent condition and can be incorporated into anyone's wardrobe and style. After looking on their website, I discovered that all the merchandise in their store is characterized by the style of Italian fashion through the 60s, 70s, and 80s.
I wasn't able to take any pictures in the store, but after searching their website, I picked out a few of my favorites that they had.  I wish that I could own them all!

Interieur

In Amsterdam, I stayed on the street Overtoom. We walked the street a bit on the first night to try and find a place to eat dinner and to get a few drinks. Along our walk, I spotted this store. I've tried to find their website, but have been unsuccessful, for I do not know if Interieur is the full name of the store. Anyhow, this little store was jam packed with vintage and antique goods. It looked like you could barley walk through the front door, because there was so much merchandise. The mannequins in the window display were definitely adorned in vintage goods, I wish I would of had a chance to go in and try on those awesome brown tall boots, but the store was never opened when we walked by. It looks like the store carried a wide variety of goods, from apparel to accessories, home furnishings and luggage. I'll definitely have to make sure to go in the store next time I'm in Amsterdam.

Bike overload in Amsterdam

As you can tell from my previous posts, I have a thing for vintage bikes, so going to Amsterdam was a dream. There were hundreds of bikes everywhere you turned, it was amazing. We even came across a parking ramp that was only meant for bikes and it was absolutely packed with bikes, there were even thousands parked outside the ramp. Amsterdam has been my favorite destination to spot vintage bikes yet, and probably will be my favorite! Everyone owns a bike and it seems like it is the main transportation of the city. I hope this trend can catch on in the States!

The basket on this bike was the best I have seen yet.

Seat on the front was awesome!

Thousands and thousands of bikes, hope this trend catches on in the U.S.
